Swim meet vs. Inwood Hollow

Parents -- Below is the information sheet I received today from the Inwood Hollow team re: our meet this Saturday. Key point of interest include the start time (8am), gate access and parking information, and volunteer tasks. Most of these volunteer positions are posted on our swimtopia site -- so please register your swimmers for the meet no later than noon Thursday and sign up for a slot so we can make this thing work. We'll need 24 adult volunteers to keep things fully staffed. Note the one position NOT listed on our site: one meet ribbon volunteer. We need someone to help put award labels to the meet ribbons.

Gate Access

We will have the gates open beginning at 6:15 AM and remain open until 12:00 PM.

Parking

Parking is limited. The parking lot entrance closest to the pool will be blocked off. Parking is available along the interior streets adjacent to the pool area. Parking on Grants Lake is not allowed on the West side of the street. Please be good to our neighbors and do not block driveways.

Important times

6:45 – 7:15 AM – Inwood Hollow warm-up

7:15 – 7:45 AM – Castle Hills Forest warm-up

7:30 AM – Deadline for heat sheet changes

7:45 AM – Timers & Stroke/Turn Judges Meetings

7:57 AM – National Anthem

8:00 AM – Meet start

Concessions

We have a well-stocked and staffed concession stand with a wide variety of snacks and beverages. Some of our many selections to enjoy are - breakfast tacos, hot dogs, nachos and pizza - along with the usual water, sodas, sports drinks, and other snacks. Please feel free to bring your own snacks and drinks as well.

Volunteers

Below are the volunteers each team will provide for the meet:

  • 1 Hy-Tek coordinator – our computer/printer will be setup will be under covered awning
  • 6 Timers - Please bring your own stopwatches (12 if dividing into 2 shifts)
  • 2 Stroke & Turn Officials (4 if dividing into 2 shifts)
  • 1 Heat Ribbon Volunteer (2 if dividing into 2 shifts)
  • Bullpen coordinators as needed per your team needs
  • 2 Ready Bench Volunteers (4 if dividing into 2 shifts)
  • 1 Meet Ribbon Volunteer (2nd half of meet only)

The change for first shift and second shift volunteers will occur between Events 34 and 35.
