Swim Stroke & Turn Clinics

Howdy Eels!

At the bottom of this email are details for the upcoming Stroke & Turn Clinics for parents that may be interested in becoming a Stroke & Turn Judge for the Eels during our Dual Meets.

What's a S&T Judge?! In short, the S&T Judge monitors each event during the meet and notes infractions/disqualification in strokes, turns, and take-offs. Each team must provide 2 judges for the meet. This is the only volunteer position that requires brief TRAINING prior to the meets. All other volunteer positions (which I will outline at a later date) do not need additional training and can be learned on the job.

Quick Pitch for S&T Judging: I did NOT swim growing up and knew very little of the sport when my kids joined the Eels. But guess what?! My kids LOVE swimming and being part of the Swim Team! So, I thought I'd better get informed about the sport. Becoming a S&T Judge for the Eels has helped me better understand each event, the acceptable and unacceptable execution of each skill, and created a better overall appreciation for the sport as a whole. Swimming is HARD y'all! Whether you're a total newbie to the sport of swimming (like me), or a seasoned swimmer consider attending one of the S&T clinics.

Did I mention that S&T Judges get the best pool-side view of all the action during the meets? Oh, and we have a dress code. Blue shorts and white polo. Stylish.

That is all for now.
